October Shootin’
This time of year, October gives us a vertical #milkyway. It also comes with a short window of shooting. We shot for a little over an hour before the dark horse gave way to the light pollution on the horizon. A nice part of shooting this time of the year is getting home around midnight is easier than 2-3am.
The Planning
I shot with Bob Fawcett. We spent a whole day a few weeks ago planning our shots. As I have written in past posts this is the most time consuming part of shooting the night sky. Bob and I had attempted hitting these spots 2 weeks ago or so and the weather forecast for it was wrong. We drove 3 hours just to be blanketed by thick clouds. We waited them out and even though they cleared behind us, our shot never emerged.
What I used
I shot an array of focal lengths last night. I shot The Irix 15mm Blackstone which you can get here! and help me out as an affiliate. The 28mm and 50mm Nikkor. All three mounted on my #nikon D750.
No photos to share…yet
Even though I got home earlier, it still makes for a long day. I will attempt to get my stacking and edits done tonight. I am really sorry I don’t have a photo to show right now. I did take a sunset phone photo from the general area we were in. This shot was taken on my #Samsung #note20.
Be sure to check back for new night sky images from the #Maryland #easternshore and the #ChesapeakeBay.
Please remember to check out some of my other work, such as “Fire on The Gunpowder” and many more.
