Delayed Dorchester County Weekend Workshops

On the last post I mentioned Bob and I were starting to look at the idea of a weekend photography workshop. We thought about doing it up to twice a year. We were pretty deep into planning too. The delayed Dorchester County weekend workshops were a result of the issues dicussed in my last post. Although we haven’t discussed it much lately, it still intrigues me. The ideal is simple, Sunset, Milky Way, Sunrise, perhaps a lighthouse photography session by boat thrown in. We discussed a few options for lodging, and there are not many where we want to settle in at.

Bob and I were beginning to make inroads in connecting with locals and believe this will help us. As in any town, it is important to respect the local community members, their property, and wishes. I write about this in the post titled: “Nightscape Shootin’“. Bob has been able to shoot throughout my hiatus and continued that work in earning the respect and blessing of the community members. I connected by shooting Taylors Island Boat Docking Challenge the last couple years.

A beautiful clearing sky reveals the abundance of stars only found in dark sky areas. The foreground includes grasses, trees, and a creek with the reflections of the trees and clouds.

There are great people in the communities of Dorchester County that we take photos in to create images. They work hard, very hard for what they have and have earned the respect they silently seek. Please respect them when visiting.

Hi Bob!

One of the reasons I love shooting with Bob is his incredible knowledge. The main reason is his incredible ability to teach seemingly complex photography strategy to a beginner. If a person wants to learn something like night sky photography, Bob is a great asset in your journey. Yep, I am talking up another photographer, mentor, shooting partner, with his own business on my blog. You’re damn right I am. I will always give the credit deserved. Many people have been instrumental in my learning. Some but not all are, Sean, Vic, Dana, Jennifer, Mark, Alyssia, Jade and more. But this post is about what Bob and I were talking about, so it is about him and I.

You may ask yourself, Bob seems like the real deal but what does Chad bring to the table? I am an extra set of hands, eyes, and ears. The basic knowledge to help beginners to intermediate shooters. I have my own workflow, similar to Bob’s but different. Everybody has a tweaked workflow in post than the next person. I can help provide a foundation for a person’s workflow in post. I really want to do this in the future, and am prepared to discuss with Bob later this year for 2024.

If you think a weekend workshop in Dorchester County, MD is for you drop a line. I also run a Facebook group for eventual meetups. I plan to become more engaged in that group as well. You can find the group at Maryland & DC Pro/Am Photography Meetup. Please consider signing up and please answer the questions when doing so. Bob runs his own workshops as well, check him out and tell him Chad sent you! As always, I aske to consider liking, sharing, and following my Facebook Page if you like what you read and see!

Spread the love
