Description
We met at the World War II memorial well before sunset. I stayed and chatted with the group and waited for the sun to set and the colorful skies to follow I stood in amazement. It had been a long time since I had traveled from Baltimore, MD to Washington DC. The beauty of the memorials, statues and monuments were had gotten lost somewhere deep in my memory. We spent some time shooting different subject before we took the trek towards the Capital Dome. I approached The United States Capital at approximately midnight. I brought along a couple lenses on this trip but was mainly focused on using my Irix products!
After seeing what my Irix 15mm Blackstone lens could accomplish, I switched out for my newest addition to my collection. I pulled out my new Irix 150mm Dragonfly (macro, and more) lens. The results were incredibly sharp detail, smooth manual focusing with the ability to lock the focus. The sharpness is so good, that when I zoomed in on my camera screen I could see details from across the Capital Dome through the lit windows!
I was equipped with my Irix 15mm Blackstone lens, which I mounted on my Nikon D750 camera body. Be sure to check out my blog page to learn a bit more about this trip.
