Description
This is a photograph from my recent trip to Florida, I call it Stand Tall. I saw this Snowy Egret on the lookout as he stood stoically awaiting flight. As I approached the egret, it did not show fear. Armed with my Nikon D750 camera and my Sigma Lens 150mm-600mm contemporary  I set my aim. I find this to be one of the most beautiful birds; as the white is so bright, with just a touch of color. This bird did not budge a muscle, nor twitch a feather. As if he was simply posing for a photograph. I felt like he knew he was the subject and that he simply needed to pose. For more information on The Snowy Egret <— click.
There were a small variety of birds that I saw in Florida on the Gulf Coast. Such as Red-Bellied Woodpeckers, Snowy Egret as seen here, Great Blue Heron, Ruddy Turnstones, Sanderlings, and of course Pelicans. I was also able to see Barn Swallows, an Osprey, and White Ibis. Much of my time was spent taking photos of birds and the water. I shot at Sand Key Park, John’s Pass, Largo, and South Venice. Therefore I did not explore much with the camera off the shore.
I did make a trip to The Florida Botanical Gardens. Where I tested the Irix 150mm Dragonfly lens for really the first time. You can see some of those photos here. Oh, Florida so much to offer to the world of art, I truly hope to return soon.
