The Dark Horse rising behind the Bodie Island Lighthouse with an electric storm happening in the distance over the Atlantic Ocean.

As a strong summer storm pushed through coastal North Carolina, it left a charged atmosphere mainly in the distance from where we were. It was as if the gods said “Let there be light-ning!” Bolts erupted with great brilliance far enough away to be safe, but close enough to awe. Vertical, diagonal, growing-horizontal zaps of electricity lit up the evening sky like some sort of laser light show.
