Description
We met at the World War II memorial well before sunset. I stayed and chatted with the group and waited for the sun to set and the colorful skies to follow I stood in amazement. It had been a long time since I had traveled from Baltimore, MD to Washington DC. The beauty of the memorials, statues and monuments were had gotten lost somewhere deep in my memory. We spent some time shooting different subject before we took the trek towards the Capital Dome. I approached The United States Capital at approximately midnight.
I was able to capture this gorgeous scene in my head, as well as a photograph through the lens. Tripod set and it was time to got to work! The United States Capital Dome was lit by spotlight beams and as a group we stood there in awe. As an American, I was overcome with the beauty and grace of the scene. But the beauty doesn’t stop at the dome, you have to take in the reflections, the starbursts, the light beams. Everything shows off extremely well in this stunning shot.
I was equipped with my Irix 15mm Blackstone lens, which I mounted on my Nikon D750 camera body. Be sure to check out my blog page to learn a bit more about this trip.
I plan on offering a large format limited run on this photo so stay tuned!
